Brik Filippo’s 26-second fall highlighted another dominating dual performance for UCO over Newman

WICHITA, Kan. (Dec. 9) – Brik Filippo’s 26-second fall highlighted another dominating dual performance for Central Oklahoma as the No. 3-ranked Bronchos blitzed Newman 45-6 Friday night.

Shawn Streck also had a first-period pin, while Studd Morris, Nate Keim and Tre’Vaughn Craig added major decisions. Anthony DesVigne had a 6-1 win and UCO added two forfeits and an injury default victory in improving to 3-0.

It was the 22nd straight win for the Bronchos, leaving them one short of tying the school record for consecutive victories. UCO moved to 599-251-11 in its illustrious history.

“We wrestled pretty well, but I still saw a lot of things we need to improve on,” head coach Todd Steidley said. “We’re making progress and getting better, which is what we’re focusing on right now.”
