Todd Glasgow was the Catalyst Behind the return of Northern Oklahoma College Wrestling

Tragic news in the Oklahoma wrestling community last week as Todd Glasgow passed away after a tough battle with the flu.

Todd wrestled for NOC before the program was dropped then went on to graduate from Oklahoma State and later receive a master’s degree at UCO. After college, Todd became an assistant coach at Blackwell and Yukon before taking the head coaching position at Madill. Todd led Madill to two state titles in 1992 and 1993. The only two team state titles in the history of the program. This was during a rare time of any 2A school eclipsing traditional powerhouse Perry. Todd later went into administrative positions as the principal at Piedmont and later the Superintendent at Geary where he continued the incredible legacy of the “Geary Tournament” that is perennially one of the top wrestling tournaments in the state.

In retirement, Todd continued to support wrestling in what will be viewed by many as the biggest piece of his wrestling legacy. Todd became an absolutely crucial and instrumental piece of the return of Northern Oklahoma College Men’s Wrestling and the addition of a women’s program that officially started this past fall.

Todd organized key elements of the NOC and wrestling community to raise over $200,000 for the reinstatement of the program. He also rallied and organized numerous key players from administrators, to alumni, and more to support the movement.

Without his efforts, we would not have NOC wrestling right now.

There will be a celebration of life for Todd this Saturday.
