OU Sooners: Weekend Recap

#13 North Dakota State over #30 Oklahoma (21-12)

#30 Oklahoma over #15 South Dakota State (18-13)

I was convinced the Sooners could get an upset this weekend, but it came against a team I picked them to lose. They bounced back after a tough loss to NDSU, and took out top 15 SDSU for the second year in a row. They won seven matches, and it easily could have been more. The team struggled against NDSU, dropping six matches including an upset loss. With only one dual left on the schedule, the Sooners have some momentum going into the second Bedlam.

Keegan Moore gets back on track

Just like with the team getting an upset, I had a feeling it was only a matter of time before Moore got a ranked win. He struggled against NDSU, getting pinned after a huge throw by Parker. He bounced back in a big way against SDSU however, as he built an early lead against Cade King and held on at the end. He scored four takedowns and looked like himself from last year with how he was wrestling.

If OU wants to challenge OK State in Stillwater and make some noise in Tulsa, they’ll need Moore to continue to look like his old self and continue getting wins. Moore will likely need to steal a spot to make NCAA’s again, but this win could give him the confidence needed to do just that.
