Last year, Oklahoma managed to rank #11 in the overall recruiting class rankings; this year they’re 24th. While not as strong a class this year, the coaching staff did a good job of filling future holes and having a strong offseason for transfers. With three wrestlers on the Big Board, OU picked up some blue chips to add to their roster.
Name | Ranking | State | High School | Projected Weight |
John Wiley | #33 | OK | Mustang | 165lbs |
Joey Cruz | #52 | CA | Clovis North | 125lbs |
Christian Forbes | #227 | OK | Broken Arrow | 125lbs |
Kaden Smith | UR | OK | Bridge Creek | 125/133lbslbs |
Transfers – Wyatt Henson (133/141lbs), #26 Mosha Schwartz (141lbs), #18 Gerrit Nijenhuis (165)
Kaden Smith may be unranked, but he is a four time state placer and won in 2020. He’s in a good position to redshirt behind wrestlers like Anthony Madrigal and Wyatt Henson. In the meantime, he is someone that I could see continue to grow and move up to 141lbs in the future.
