David Taylor moved to 4-0 in his coaching career and 2-0 in Gallagher-Iba Arena after wins over Wyoming and Arizona State.

Here are the full releases from each dual provided by Oklahoma State Sports Information Director Jake Leforce.

STILLWATER – The No. 3 Oklahoma State wrestling team routed No. 23 Arizona State, 33-6, at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sunday afternoon. With the win, OSU improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in conference duals, while the Sun Devils fell to 3-2.

Just like their previous three duals, the Cowboys were dominant from start to finish as they won eight of 10 bouts, including six with bonus points, and recorded 28 takedowns to Arizona State’s four. Sunday’s performance also saw Oklahoma State surpass 30 team points for the fourth straight dual, its first time doing so to open a season since 2016-17. Through those four duals, OSU has claimed 33 of 40 bouts and secured bonus points 22 times for a 55% clip.

Heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson set the tone for the afternoon against fifth-ranked Cohlton Schultz, a meeting featuring six combined All-America finishes. Hendrickson controlled the match the whole way through, scoring a takedown in the first period, riding Schultz out for the entire second and then adding eight more points in the third to win, 11-5. The win was Hendrickson’s third ever against a top five opponent and his 39th straight in dual competition.

Moving down the scale to the 125-pound bout, Troy Spratley completed his monster weekend against Max Brewster. Fresh off his win against Wyoming’s No. 2 Jore Volk on Friday, Spratley pinned Brewster in the second period to earn six more points for the Pokes.

In his first career match at Gallagher-Iba Arena, 133-pounder Cael Hughes thrashed Carter Dibert with three takedowns, two near falls and a reversal en route to the 18-1 technical fall. Tagen Jamison followed suit by beating Emilio Ysaguirre, 5-1, improving his record to 7-0 on the season.

Arizona State got on the board at 149 pounds as No. 15 Jesse Vasquez narrowly downed Carter Young, 9-7, but Cutter Sheets immediately rebounded for a convincing 18-5 major decision over Austin Scott. Sheets dropped a tight match to No. 22 Jared Hill of Wyoming on Friday but had no issue securing his first career dual victory this time around.

Dean Hamiti Jr. and Dustin Plott added major decisions at 174 and 184 pounds, respectively, to further extend OSU’s lead. Hamiti has earned bonus points in all four of his matches this season, while Plott also remained undefeated with his third bonus performance in four tries.

At 197 pounds, Luke Surber closed out the afternoon in style as he flew past Max Acciardi by way of a 17-4 major decision. Surber was relentless as he also improved to 4-0, racking up five takedowns without surrendering an offensive point.

Oklahoma State’s next dual is scheduled for December 13 at Oklahoma but will first take on wrestling’s toughest regular season tournament, the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, on December 6-7. The event will be available for streaming on FloWrestling.org.

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State wrestling team downed Wyoming, 32-6, Friday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in front of its largest home-opening crowd in 21 years. The win improved Oklahoma State’s record to 3-0 and 2-0 in conference duals, while the loss was Wyoming’s first of the season at 2-1.

Friday’s attendance was announced at 6,781, the program’s biggest for a home opener since December 7, 2003, when OSU battled Oklahoma on the heels of its 2003 NCAA team title (7,402). Oklahoma State took eight of 10 matches against Wyoming, four of which came with bonus points and two by pin. The Cowboys have racked up 106 team points thus far, its highest total through three duals since 2001-02, and taken 25 of 30 individual bouts, a feat that was never reached at any point last season.

“I’m grateful to be here,” head coach David Taylor said. “I think people want to see fun wrestling, and they want to cheer and believe in something. I think you can cheer and believe in Oklahoma State wrestling. It was a lot of fun tonight.”

In the marquee match of the night, No. 6 Troy Spratley took on No. 2 Jore Volk in a rematch of the 2024 Big 12 championship at 125 pounds. Volk had claimed the previous two meetings, but Spratley stole the show as he earned a takedown with 34 seconds remaining in the third period to send the match into sudden victory, where he then sealed the comeback win at 7-4. It was the highest-ranked win of Spratley’s career and third against a top 10 opponent.

Reece Witcraft continued the momentum at the 133 pounds, securing an 11-3 major decision with a takedown in the final 25 seconds against Stockton O’Brien. Leading 7-0 as a team, No. 12 Tagen Jamison defeated 27th-ranked Cole Brooks in another thrilling bout. With 15 seconds remaining in the third period and trailing by three, Jamison picked up Brooks and slammed him to the mat to score a takedown and send the bout to sudden victory. There, Jamison picked up another takedown to give three more team points to the Cowboys from Stillwater.

Wyoming tightened the dual for a brief period with back-to-back wins at 149 and 157 pounds, but it was all OSU after intermission. Sixth-ranked Cameron Amine recorded his second-straight major decision, this time by a 12-2 score over Cooper Voorhees.

At 174 pounds, Dean Hamiti Jr. put the Gallagher-Iba Arena crowd on its feet in his home debut, pinning Quayin Short in 1:48. Hamiti has not let any of his three matches go the full seven minutes this year, winning twice by technical fall last weekend. Three-time All-American Dustin Plott mathematically clinched the dual in favor of the Pokes as he pulled away in the third period to win, 9-4, against Eddie Neitenbach.

Luke Surber continued his red-hot start to the season with a 7-4 decision over No. 16 Joey Novak, his second consecutive win over a wrestler ranked higher by InterMat. Much like his bout against Oregon State’s No. 7 Trey Munoz last weekend, Surber was dominant from the top position as he accrued over two minutes of riding time.

Heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson made it five straight bouts won to close the night, as he dominated Kevin Zimmer and put him on his back for a pin in the second period. Like Hamiti, all three of Hendrickson’s matches this season have concluded before the full seven minutes.

The Cowboys quickly return to action Sunday, hosting another conference foe in Arizona State at 1 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The dual will once again be available for streaming on ESPN+.
