After a huge transfer announcement last weekend with Wyatt Henson, and two big-name midweek commitments out of Ohio, the Sooners added a bit more positive news on Friday with another transfer announcement in Purdue’s Gerrit Nijenhuis.
Nijenhuis was a two-time NCAA qualifier at Purdue, wrestling at 165 as a freshman, and 174 last year as a sophomore. He will likely slot in well there for OU after the loss of Anthony Mantanona to graduation.
Nijenhuis is originally from Pennsylvania where he was a two-time state champion and four-time placer. He was a Fargo runner-up and Super 32 champion in high school.
