John Smith is coming out of retirement to assist with the Cowgirl Wrestling Club.
The club made the announcement on Sunday. Smith joins one of his former wrestlers, Izzak Olejnik, who is the program’s first head coach, and his assistant, Gary Traub to make up the Cowgirl staff.
The program currently has a U20 World Team Member in Daniela Nugent competing in Bulgaria, along with one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Hopefully this is one more step towards what we all hope will eventually be an official NCAA Division One program.
