Cowboy Invitational Preview: OSUTakes Its Wrestle-Offs Public

By popular demand, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are making their 2026-27 wrestle-offs public, and have invited some of their friends to the Cowboy Invitational sponsored by OnCue. The Cowboys hit the mat Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena for a unique four-team “tournament” where almost all of the Poke wrestlers are scheduled to compete, making for some very intriguing potential matchups, mostly between likely Cowboy starters and backups, though a few visitors from Little Rock, SIU Edwardsville and Gardner-Webb may sneak into the semis and finals as well.

The Cowboy staff is excited about the revenue-generation side of the event. They procured a $50,000 title sponsorship from OnCue and hope to fill the place up to help the program in any way possible. Tickets are still available at okstate.evenue.net/events/WR-INV for $50 general admission. Because it is built to generate dollars for the program, it will not be streamed, so if you are at all interested, make your way to Stillwater and watch in person. If you cannot make it, you can keep up with the brackets on flowrestling.org.

A note on the rankings cited below: WrestleStat, InterMat and Flo have all released preseason rankings, and none of them rank true freshmen until they have college matches. Where it matters, the recruiting rankings, Flo’s final Class of 2026 Big Board and MatScouts’ final board, published by InterMat, tell the real story. Let’s get to the brackets and the best matchups of the day.

125

Returning starter Troy Spratley (#3 WrestleStat, #7 InterMat) may be nursing an undisclosed injury of some kind, so true freshman Rocklin Zinkin will be the highlight for the Pokes. Rumor from the room is that he gives the much more experienced Spratley all he wants when they go, so one would expect him to make his way to the finals, where Little Rock’s Tyson Roach (#48 WrestleStat) is the likely opponent.

Don’t let the rankings fool you, Zinkin was a top-ten recruit (#7 Flo, #8 MatScouts) who won Fargo and Super 32 at 120 pounds, and the outlets simply haven’t ranked him yet. He opens in a pigtail against SIUE’s Dominic Brown.

133

The top of this bracket is a formality, Jax Forrest, the defending national champion, is the unanimous #1 at 133 across WrestleStat, InterMat and Flo, and he gets a bye into the quarters. The intrigue is on the bottom side, where Gardner-Webb’s T.K. Davis (#8 Flo, #9 InterMat, #11 WrestleStat) is the second-highest-ranked non-Cowboy in the field, behind only Little Rock’s Stephen Little at 197.
