Oklahoma wrestlers made their mark at the 2026 US Open Championships, held April 22-26 at The Expo at World Market Center in Las Vegas. The Sooner State brought a deep contingent across all divisions and came home with hardware at every level, highlighted by strong showings from Cowboy RTC and Position Wrestling athletes.
Wyatt Hendrickson of Cowboy RTC/WCAP headlined the week with a national title at 125 kg Senior Men’s Freestyle, while Landon Robideau of Cowboy RTC/Titan Mercury Wrestling Club took first at U20 Freestyle 70 kg. On the Senior Freestyle side, Dustin Plott and Joseph McKenna each reached the finals at 92 kg and 65 kg respectively, both earning silver for Cowboy RTC/Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. Jordan Williams of Threestyle Wrestling added a bronze at 70 kg.
In Senior Greco-Roman World Team Trials action, Brady Koontz of Position Wrestling/TMWC reached the finals at 55 kg, finishing second. Jace Koelzer of Position Wrestling earned a bronze at 60 kg, and Rhett Peak of Position Wrestling/NYAC placed fifth at 63 kg.
The U20 division saw strong depth from Oklahoma. Thomas Verrette of Position Wrestling earned a bronze at 67 kg Greco-Roman, with Legend Ellis of Threestyle Wrestling placing fourth in the same bracket. Stockton Allen of Mustang Wrestling Club placed seventh at 60 kg GR, Will Deutschlander of OKRTC finished eighth at 67 kg GR, and Jaxon Trotter of Tiger Wrestling Club placed sixth at 87 kg GR. Jake Miller of Broken Arrow Wrestling Club placed seventh at 70 kg Freestyle, and Kody Routledge of Cowboy RTC/Titan Mercury Wrestling Club took fifth at 74 kg Freestyle.
Oklahoma’s youth wrestlers also competed well. Alex Lobdell of Cowboy Wrestling Club earned a silver at U15 Greco-Roman 44 kg and added a sixth-place finish in U15 Freestyle 44 kg. Channing Bowman of Prodigy Wrestling took silver at U15 Greco-Roman 38 kg. Nash Denison of Cowboy Wrestling Club placed fifth at U15 Freestyle 57 kg, and Jaegar RomanNose of Position Wrestling placed sixth at U15 Greco-Roman 48 kg.
In the UWW Futures division, Denver Wolf of Cowboy Wrestling Club earned silver at Freestyle 57 kg, and Stetson Scott of Cowboy Wrestling Club placed fifth at Freestyle 35 kg. Jett Kline of Cowboy Wrestling Club placed eighth at U17 Freestyle 51 kg.
