Saturday’s first session couldn’t have gone more different for Oklahoma State and NC State. The Cowboys hit the break looking for some offense while the Wolfpack were on a high after dominating Northern Iowa 27-8 in what most thought would be a very competitive dual. The whistle blows at 5:00 p.m. Saturday night for what looks to be a much closer dual than what we may have previously thought. Here are the likely lineups.
(2/2) Troy Spratley (2-0) v. (1/1) Vincent Robinson (2-0)
In this super match, Robinson had the first chance to score after grabbing an ankle and elevating. As the first period expired, it appeared Spratley was able to avoid the takedown, but after an official review, a takedown was given. Robinson chose down to start the 2d, and put on a great display of mat returns and breakdowns to totally dominate on top and ride Robinson out. Spratley escaped quickly to start the 3d, Robinson picked up a stall warning with 50 seconds left, but did just enough to keep Spratley off his legs to pick up the 3-2 win. NC State 3-0.
