Even with a few disappointments, the #4 Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-1) had to feel very good about their showing at the National Duals Invitational last weekend, going 3-1 on their way to a 3rd place finish and $75.000. The Cowboys only loss was to Iowa, in an 18-16 nailbiter that could have gone either way. The Cowboys head west this weekend to face Air Force (2-1) Friday night at 8:30 p.m., to be broadcast on Flowrestling.com (paid)
Air Force did not compete at the NDI, but have compiled a 2-1 record this year, with wins over Colorado State-Pueblo (26-15) and The Citadel (23-12). Their only loss was to D2 Gardner Webb (20-18) which was very cooly held on the deck of the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier.
Although this is certain to be a blowout, Air Force/Oklahoma State great Wyatt Hendrickson will be honored during the dual, and you can’t beat Colorado Springs this time of year. Let’s get to the lineups. Rankings by (Flo/Intermat)
125 (8/8) Troy Spratley (3-2) v. Tucker Owens (4-2)
Spratley had mixed results at NDI going 2-2, with both losses to top 10 guys, but he knows he needs to do better. Owens is a senior who has only qualified for the national tournament once. This will be an easy Spratley win. PREDICTION: Sprat by TF. OSU 5-0
