Saturday’s first session couldn’t have gone more different for Oklahoma State and NC State. The Cowboys hit the break looking for some offense while the Wolfpack were on a high after dominating Northern Iowa 27-8 in what most thought would be a very competitive dual. The whistle blows at 5:00 p.m. Saturday night for what looks to be a much closer dual than what we may have previously thought. Here are the likely lineups.
(2/2) Troy Spratley (2-0) v. (1/1) Vincent Robinson (2-0)
These two guys battled in the NCAA finals last year, with Robinson picking up the win in OT. Robinson also owns a 4-1 win over Spratley in January of this year. Spratley looked great in his first round matchup today picking up a major decision, while Robinson held on for a 4-2 win over Trever Anderson (UNI). This will be the matchup of the quarterfinals, and will really show if Spratley can get over the hump against Robinson. PREDICTION: Robinson by decision. NC State 3-0.
133 (12/8) Richard Figueroa (0-2) vs. (22/18) Zach Redding
Past 125 National Champion Richard Figueroa has looked like something is missing this year.
It’s hard to tell if it’s the new weight, or the new team but he has definitely wrestled better in the past.
