Kael Voinovich Will be Wrestling for Stillwater High School This Season

Stillwater, the defending 6A state champions, don’t look like they’ll be taking their foot off the gas anytime soon. After winning the team title in 2021, they graduated two state champions in Carter Young and Teague Travis.

Along with U15 National Champion Dee Lockett, who will be a freshman next season, they now will have one of Ohio’s best in Kael Voinovich.

Kael is the younger brother of soon-to-be Oklahoma State freshman Victor Voinovich and was ranked as the #12 freshman in the country according to Intermat at the end of this season. He finished third at the Ohio state tournament at 145 last season and will likely be wrestling at 145 or 152 this year depending on the best lineup fit with Angelo and Anthony Ferrari.

The Voinovich family will be moving to Stillwater to keep the brothers close together and for a new job in the area. Both boys will still represent Team Ohio this summer.

Stillwater’s roster will now consist of state champions Sam Smith, Cael Hughes, JJ McComas, and Anthony Ferrari, along with nationally ranked sophomores Angelo Ferrari and Kael Voinovich, and highly touted incoming freshman Dee Lockett.
