Jenna Burkert Named Associate Head Coach at Bixby

World Bronze Medalist Jenna Burkert will join the defending 6A girls’ state champion Bixby as their new associate head coach.

Burkert is originally from New York, and after high school went on to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. She later joined the Army World Class Athlete Program in 2016, eventually achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Jenna had the following statement regarding the new position.

“I’m so excited to be part of the Bixby Family in Oklahoma. I love how much everyone here cares about the young student-athletes, both on and off the mat. I’m eager to contribute to the development of these young men and women as wrestlers, students, and individuals. Bixby has welcomed my family with open arms, and we are incredibly grateful to be Spartans. This program has a strong legacy both in wrestling and academics, and I can’t wait to help build on that with the amazing staff here. I truly believe this high school program is on par with top colleges, and I feel honored to learn from them and bring my own contributions to the table.”
