The two most decorated programs in NCAA history, Oklahoma State and Iowa, face off in the semifinals of the National Duals Invitational (presented by Paycom) at 10:00 a.m. Sundaymorning. On paper, it looks to be a tough road to victory for the Cowboys, but if the Pokes can pull off a couple of upsets, they could make it interesting. Here are the likely lineups:
(2/2) Troy Spratley (3-0) v. (10/10) Dean Peterson (2-0)
After an eye poke early, Spratley got on the board first working his way around from a tie up to death belt position to finish the TD. Spratley put on a tough ride until Peterson hit a big throwon a reversal to Spratley’s back. Spratley was lucky to not get pinned, but they went out of bounds. After a Peterson rideout, it was 3-2 Spratley headed into the 2d. Spratley chose down, was out easy, but under a minute of RT on the board. Peterson got hit with a stall warning after about a minute. Spratley got in deep on a shot but it was too late to finish before time expired. 4-2 Spratley. Not much happened for most of the 3d until Spratley almost got shot out, but reattacked to grab a leg and was in control, but somehow lost the ankle and Peterson circled around for the late takedown to win 5-4. Really tough loss in a match Spratley controlled for 6:30. RESULT: Iowa 3-0.
