This is a heavy topic to write about. We’re a wrestling website and try to keep the focus more on the actual competitions, teams, and other things of that nature. But this story regarding the tragic death of former Comanche wrestler Noah Presgrove is so unique and so widely talked about now, that I felt we should provide some coverage of it.
Presgrove was a wrestler for Comanche from 2021-2023. He was a two-time state qualifier and finished third at the state tournament in 2023 after winning the 3A West Regional at 157 pounds. We spoke with Noah after his regional title just about seven months before he passed away. You can watch the video at the link below.
3A West Regional: Noah Presgrove, Comanche, 157 champ | Rokfin
19-year-old Noah Presgrove was found dead, lying along the side of US-81 near Terral, after attending a Labor Day party with friends in September 2023. A medical examiner’s report revealed he died from “blunt force injuries,” while labeling his manner of death as “undetermined.”
The details of what happened are murky, to say the least. He was in a minor ATV accident that night but was not injured severely. At one point at the party, he got into a brief altercation with one of his friends over a girl that was believed to have been squashed quickly. There were a few social media posts about him leaving the party, but no one seems to have answers as to what exactly happened to cause his death. To this day the family continues searching for answers.
They’ve started a Facebook page that now has over 32,000 members wondering what happened to Presgrove.
