Dalton Duffield Finishes Third at Senior World Team Trials

Oklahoma managed to put three wrestlers on the podium at the Senior World Team Trials. Daton Fix won the 61 KG spot, Carter Young shocked the world and finished third at the same weight, and Dalton Duffield worked his way to a third-place finish at 55 KG in Greco.

Duffield kicked things off with a 14-5 tech over #4 seed Jacob Cochran. Duffield and Cochran were tied 5-5 with Cochran leading on criteria before Duffield hit a four-point arm spin and a five-point throw with just under two minutes left to close out the match.

He fell in the semifinals to WCAP teammate and eventual champion Max Nowry, then bounced back on the consolation side with a 9-0 tech over Gabriel Gray.

This set up a rematch with Cochran where Duffield found himself down again then hit another big throw and picked up a fall to finish third.

Duffield is originally from Westmoore and now wrestles for the Army World Class Athlete Program.
