Earlier this month, the OSSAA released their ADM enrollment numbers. This is what they use to determine sports classifications across the state. Wrestling is unique, though. To figure out the classifications for our sport, they have to elminate all of the schools without wrestling programs and redo the numbers.
The largest 32 schools with wrestling programs make up the 6A class; the next 38 schools with wrestling make up 5A; the next 38 schools with wrestling make up 4A. Everyone remaining with wrestling makes up 3A. So I took the ADM numbers, pulled away all the schools that had wrestling last season, and here’s how it shakes out.
