What to watch for: OU vs SDSU

30 Oklahoma (8-6) vs #15 South Dakota State (11-3) – Feb. 12th @1PM on FloWrestling

After a tough loss against NDSU, the Sooners travel south to take on another ranked conference team in SDSU. The team struggled against NDSU, with Henson getting upset and Keegan Moore being pinned. OU has a bounceback chance here, as they have some good matchups with SDSU. 

There’s expected to be five ranked matches, and OU is favored in three of them. It would take some upsets, but a team win is not out of the question. Last year OU actually pulled off this upset 16-15 on criteria at home. This time on the road they’ll be looking to repeat the result. 

Can OU build momentum early

Assuming the dual starts at 125, the Sooners could have a chance to get on a win streak. They’re favored in the first four matches, and Butler has shown an ability to get upsets. If they want to pull off a team win, winning the first five matches would go a long way. It will be tough as two of the matches are against ranked opponents. Last year OU had a streak of winning four matches from 149-174. It’s different opponents this time, but a similar streak could be the difference maker for the Sooners.
