EDMOND (Jan. 14) – Top-ranked Central Oklahoma’s scheduled Saturday afternoon showdown at Hamilton Field House with No. 3 McKendree has been canceled due to health and safety protocols.
The dual between the Bronchos and Bearcats from Lebanon, Illinois will not be rescheduled.
UCO has paused operations within the program for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. The Bronchos are scheduled to return to the mat next weekend at Midwest Duals in Kearney, Neb.
Central’s next scheduled home dual will be Sunday, Jan. at 2 p.m. against Central Missouri. A reunion celebrating the 50th season of the program being reinstated will also be held that day, with all former wrestlers, coaches, managers and trainers invited to attend.
The Bronchos are 7-0 on the season and are coming off a championship effort at the NWCA Division II National Duals. UCO beat No. 2 St. Cloud State 19-14 in the finals of that event, snapping the Huskies’ NCAA-record 77-match winning streak.
