TONKAWA (Jan 12): The District Duals for 3A-3 was a seven team event held Thursday at Tonkawa’s Event Center. The teams competing for their chance to go to Dual State were Cashion, Hennessey, Oklahoma Christian School, Pawnee, Perkins-Tryon, Perry, and Tonkawa. The dual that ultimately decided which team would advance to 3A Dual State was the last dual of the day between the 7th ranked Pawnee Black Bears and the 8th ranked Perry Maroons. Both teams were 5-0 on the day leading up to this dual.
The dual began at 165lbs and Perry got off to a good start with a fall by Ethan Hughes (165), a forfeit for Kaleb Owen (175), and a quick fall by Treg Bowman (190), giving the Marrons an 18-0 lead.
