The women on Team Oklahoma turned in an outstanding performance to earn a 4th place All-American finish at the Air Force Special Warfare Junior Women’s Greco National Dual Tournament this past weekend in Tulsa.
The team roared through their pool, winning duals over Texas Red, South Carolina, Idaho and a big 46-26 win over eventual runner-up Missouri. In the Gold/Silver pool tournament, Oklahoma got a tech fall win from Destiny Jones in the final match to pull out a 37-34 win over Ohio Red and followed that with a 39-24 win over Michigan.
While Missouri advanced to the championship finals, Oklahoma fell to the number one seed and eventual champion California Blue, 60-10, which put them in the 3rd place dual.
Short handed due to injuries suffered in the California dual, Oklahoma gave it their best effort, but fell 38-36 to Texas Blue to earn the 4th place All-American finish.
Prior to the Greco Tournament, the women placed 12th out of 37 teams in the Freestyle Tournament….
