Stillwater has won the last three 6A state championships in wrestling. The hiring of former Wyoming assistant coach coupled with an influx of high-level talent helped create a dynasty run for the program over the last few years.
Led by World Champion LaDarion Lockett, the Pioneers have a total of seven prior state champions entering their lineup this year along with some other supporting pieces. Though Edmond North looks like the preseason favorite in 6A, the Pioneers will aim to hang onto their crown.
They’re also pushing to develop their girls’ program. Returning state placer Joy Robledo and new coach Elizabeth Tidwell will look to build off the program’s first state placer last season and have big goals for their future.
