Rhett Peak Makes U20 World Team Trials Finals as Oklahoma Gets Four All-Americans in Greco in Ohio

On Friday, a host of Oklahomans competed at the U20 Greco World Team Trials tournament and U23 Greco Nationals in Ohio.

Rhett Peak made it to the U20 best of three finals at 60 KG with wins over Gable Porter and OU commit Zan Fuggitt before facing off against Max Black from Northern Michigan University. Peak dropped two in a row in the best of three with Black, finishing one place out of the world team spot.

Hayden Simpson also competed here and finished fourth at 130 KG. He went 2-2 on the tournament.

For U23, Bobby Robinson was the story of the tournament for Oklahoma Greco. The Deer Creek product lost in the round of 16 at 63 KG but battled back to win three straight before falling in the consolation semifinals and going to the fifth-place match. He dropped the fifth-place match but finished as an All-American after coming in unseeded.

Durant’s Cody Hicks added one more All-American for Oklahoma in U23 Greco with an eighth-place finish at 77 KG.
