Recap: Wrestle Like a Girl Cache Invitational

The Wrestle Like a Girl Cache Invitational had a little bit of everything Friday. Started off by getting to see a beautiful Oklahoma sunrise on the way into THE DOGHOUSE. This tournament was well ran on time, great officiating and 292 girls showed up on a total of 34 teams.

Even the concession stand was on point, nothing like a great priced walking taco to throw down in between watching all the action.

There is not a bad seat in the house and the playlist they had playing during the tournament was fire. From Start to finish we got our money’s worth.

There were upsets, comebacks and some absolutely great performances by these girls. The team race was won by the Lady Lions of Moore.

Moore put 4 into the finals and walked away with 3 champions and 1 runner up.

Peyton Hand won the lower weight O.W. and Kali Hayden won the O.W. for the upper weights.

100lbs Championship Match

Kylee Smith (Moore) vs Thalia Taylor (Del City)

Smith came out and hit a nice sweep single to get the quick 2.  Smith throws legs in and flattens Taylor out and gets 3 back points on a turk. Smith uses a reverse half and secures a first period pin at 1:26 into the match for the win.
