Recap: 78th Geary Tournament

Once again, the iconic Geary Tournament provided drama and outstanding wrestling as Stillwater crowned an incredible eight champions to win the team title in a tight battle with Edmond North.

You would think going a perfect eight for eight in the championship finals (with six bonus point wins) and adding four other placers that Stillwater would have run away with the team title.

Championship Interviews:

That wasn’t the case, as Edmond North countered with 12 placers of their own, including four champions and six 2nd place medalists to finish just 10.5 points behind the Pioneers. Rounding out the top five teams were 3rd place Tuttle, 4th – Arlington Martin, TX and 5th – Broken Arrow.

Stillwater and Edmond North proved why they are both ranked in the Top Five in the nation as the battle for the team title quickly became a two-team race.

Heading into the finals, Stillwater had a three-point lead and had eight finalists compared to seven finalists for the Huskies.
