After taking out the top ACC team on the road, the Cowboys look to stay undefeated against a very tough Pitt team. The Panthers are quietly a very tough dual team, with wins over Lehigh and Ohio State. The team has nine starters in the rankings, including five in the top 15. OK State is favored at every weight but 174 and 285, with a potential return of Luke Surber. With rumors swirling about Daton Fix potentially moving to 125 hopefully there will be more official word on if he is going down or just slimming down for the Olympic Trials. Pittsburgh hasn’t had their full lineup compete since Collegiate Duals, over three weeks ago, so they should be healthy and ready to compete.
125: #19 Troy Spratley (10-3) vs #28 Colton Camacho (7-4)
Camacho is in his third year as a starter and having his best year. After being a bubble qualifier last year, Camacho has scored multiple ranked wins that have him looking like he could break through this season. Spratley is coming off a potential signature win over a different Camacho in one of his best matches this year. If Spratley can keep his offense up and keep getting off bottom quickly, I think he gets a decision here.
Prediction: Spratley Dec. Camacho (OKST 3 PITT 0)
133: #3 Daton Fix (3-0) vs #18 Vince Santaniello (10-7)
Santaniello was a blue chip recruit who has hit the ground running as a redshirt freshman. He has had some inconsistent results, including a rough collegiate duals that saw him go 0-3. However he just won the Franklin & Marshall Open, and has wrestled some highly ranked opponents tough. Fix is on the highest tier however, and I think he gets another bonus point win here. I think Fix gets the tech here with how his offense looked against Orine….
