It was an exciting first session for the Pokes, as they went 17-1 to put nine out of ten wrestlers in the semi-finals, with Ryder, who appeared to get dinged up the only one to drop to the backside. It would have been a runaway session but for the heroics of Iowa State, who put eight in the semis, and were bonus machines. Not to be shown up, OSU had 7 major decisions, 5 tech falls, and 1 pin to earn bonus points in 13 of 18 matches and take an 89.5 to 83.5 lead over Iowa State into Friday night’s Session 2. Arizona State is WAAAAAY back in 3rd with 40 points. Friday night’s action starts at 5:00 CST and we will see how many the Cowboys can put in the Finals.

RD 1: (1) Troy Spratley faced Bridger Ricks (Utah Valley). Spratley dominated on top racking up more than two minutes of riding time. Ricks was able to fend Spratley off bonus points pretty well until the third period where Spratley was finally able to put some real points on the board and pick up the 12-1 Major Decision.
Quarters: Spratley faced Mack Mauger (Missouri) who upset 8 seed Tucker Owens (Air Force). Sprat dominated on top, building up a mountain of riding time and earned a 9-0 major decision. Would’ve liked to have seen a little more scoring out of Sprat against Mauger, but at least he was able to get the bonus point.
Semis: (5) Conrad Hendrikson (Oklahoma) is 14-10 and has lost to Spratley all three times they have faced each other (3-0, pin, 4-1). I don’t expect Hendrikson to give Spratley much trouble, however, Sprat can sometimes keep it too close for comfort.
