This week OU picked up what is probably the biggest name transfer of the entire NCAA season with two-time All-American, and last year’s third-place NCAA finisher, Stephen Buchanan out of Wyoming.
Buchanan entered the transfer portal on Tuesday and announced his intentions to transfer via his Instagram on Thursday. This is a monumental pickup for OU as Buchanan is a legitimate NCAA title contender and also last year’s Big 12 champion at 197.
Also announcing his transfer to OU from Wyoming is Gage Hockett of Cushing. Hockett was 8-3 last year as a redshirt freshman. Both these announcements come following OU’s hire of Teyon Ware from Wyoming in October.
