5) Oklahoma State braved the elements to wrestle (18) Missouri Friday night in Columbia, and boy did they have themselves a night. After surrendering a grand total of ZERO takedowns against Oklahoma last time out, Missouri was able to eke out exactly ONE takedown in the ten matches while getting absolutely hammered by the Pokes 33-3.
The dual started at 125 where Troy Spratley started things off fast with a 19-5 major decision, and was thisclose to a last second tech, but Mack Mauger was able to stave off his attempts.
Jax Forrest continued to show that he belongs on a college mat, not in a high school wrestling room, with an easy 16-1 tech fall powered by a series of tilts and other moves that show that even with all his freestyle success he can be a hammer on top as well.
Forrest’s style in so fun to watch because he sometimes gives up his ankle or leg easily, but somehow almost always ends up with the takedown, or at least a stalemate in the scramble.
