This weekend a handful of Oklahoma schools made the trip up to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for the coveted Walsh Ironman tournament. Some argue that this is the toughest regular season tournament of the year. Personally I have always wished Ironman was a little later into the season, so kids were a bit more polished and down to their best weights, but none the less it is still a great tournament with nationally ranked competition from around the country. Ironman is always a battle ground to test where you are at as the season kicks into gear and for some is an eye opener of the level of competition outside of just Oklahoma.
Two Oklahoma schools finished within the top 10 out of 100+ schools with Stillwater finishing in 6th place (117.5 points) and Edmond North finishing in 8th (98.5 points). Congratulations have to be given to the 7 All-Americans that were crowned this weekend. Oklahoma was lead by back-to-back champions with Kody Routledge of Edmond North taking the crown at 157 and LaDarion Dee Lockett of Stillwater capturing his 2nd Ironman title at 165.
