Big recruiting news for Oklahoma State as Cody Merrill announced his commitment on Tuesday.
Merrill ranks as the #2 pound-for-pound wrestler in the country according to Willie Saylor and is the #1 ranked wrestler at 215 pounds. He also ranks as his #2 D1 prospect on the 2024 “Big Board”.
The plan for Merrill is to slot in at 197 pounds, giving the Cowboys quite the future at the upper weights with Merrill and Christian Carroll.
He is coached by former Oklahoma State All-American and UFC Champion Daniel Cormier at Gilroy High School in Gilroy, California.
