Friends University in Wichita, Kansas hosted the Falcon Open on Saturday, November 2 and a handful of Oklahoma City University (OCU) and Carl Albert State College (CASC) wrestlers made the trip to get their seasons started. CASC sent a pair of wrestlers to the event and they each got at least one win. OCU was represented by five wrestlers who each got multiple wins and one landed on the podium to start their seasons.

Cayden Felts made the trip to Wichita and picked up a couple wins in the 165 pound bracket. Felts started his day with a major decision victory, and followed it up with a thrilling win in sudden victory. Unfortunately, Felts was forced to medically forfeit the quarterfinal match, which ended his day early. Ethan Day also represented the Vikings in the tournament, competing in the 184 pound weight class. Day received a first round bye and picked up a decision victory in his second match of the day before dropping back to back matches, finishing the day 1-2.

OCU was well represented at the Falcon Open, starting with Caden Manion competing in the 141 pound weight class. Manion got his season started off with a bang, winning his first two matches by pinfall and tech fall. However, after dropping a tightly contested decision, Manion had to medically forfeit his consolation match, ending his day prematurely. Keegan Luton had the best finish for the Stars, placing third in the 149 pound bracket. After receiving a first round bye, Luton scored victories by tech fall and major decision to make the semi final match. After a tight, defensive match, Luton was defeated in the semis, dropping him into the consolation semifinals. Luton would bounce back nicely, however, scoring bonus points in back to back matches, with a tech fall and a major decision, to secure a third place finish to start his season.
