#12 Oklahoma State (9-2) vs #5 Michigan (9-2)
Feb. 3rd @7PM CT on Rokfin

All Time Record vs: 6-0

Oklahoma State hits the road again for another Bout at the Ballpark in Arlington at Globe Life Field. Last year they took on #2 Iowa in a 23-9 loss. This year they’ve got a new Big 10 opponent in top five Michigan. OSU is coming off a loss to Iowa State but had a lot of positive takeaways from that and the UNI dual. Michigan’s two losses have come to #1 Penn State and #5 Ohio State.

On Coach Smith’s recent radio show he said Witcraft is making the descent and should be going this weekend. It sounds like Mastrogiovanni is still out with an injury, and there’s a chance his season is over. Blankenship has used all of his starts if they want to keep him on redshirt, so Witcraft could be the starter for the rest of the year.

Travis Wittlake also missed the last two duals but Coach Smith said it was “precautionary” so he’s likely back in the lineup. With nine ranked matchups, the dual could come down to bonus points.

125lbs: Reece Witcraft (14-4) vs #20 Jack Medley (16-7)

Witcraft is likely going to be making his first start since the 2021 season when he filled in on duals. He was the starter in 2020 at 133lbs and qualified with an 18-10 record. Last year he went 5-2 at 125lbs and is 9-2 in his career at that weight. This year he doesn’t have any ranked wins at 133, but did take #26 Connor Brown to sudden victory at the Southern Scuffle.

He gets a tough first match in Medley, a sixth year senior who is back in the lineup with the graduation of Nick Suriano. He had a rough start to the year at 0-3, but has multiple ranked wins this season. Medley is solid from neutral, but very tough on top. Witcraft could be a wildcard here, but I think that Medley takes this match.

Prediction: Medley Dec. Witcraft (OSU 0 MICH 3)

133lbs: #2 Daton Fix (16-0) vs #12 Dylan Ragusin (12-5)

I was surprised that these two hadn’t wrestled before, as Ragusin has started for Michigan since his true freshman year. Fix is coming off back to back dominant performances where he just missed out on scoring bonus points. Ragusin made the round of 12 last season and has only given up bonus points once this season.
