Girls Recap: Moore vs Elgin

After defeating the Bulldogs of Altus in dual number 1 the Lady Lions took home a hard fought victory over the Owls of Elgin. The Lions came out of the gate early and quickly built a 30-0 lead to finally come out and get the 48-27 victory.

I was really impressed with Elgin’s upper weights, you can tell the have been putting in work and just getting better each match.

I got to speak to Symphony Veloz, returning state champion and Fargo AA and she said this early season has been a blast. She enjoying having more girls come out and give wrestling a try and also loves to be able to compete in duals and be competitive.

Kylee Smith (100) started off the night with a Forfeit.

At 105 Lopez bumped up to 110 to get a match so there was a double forfeit.

Hannah Lopez (110) started of the match and hits a short fireman’s to a pin attempt. Downs was able to fight it of and get to her base. Lopez quickly got another turn and Downs was able to fight the pin attempt again. Go ing int the second Lopez leads 8-0 and goes down. Lopez works for the reversal and quicker runs a bar and half and just runs Downs over and stacks her for the pin.
