Elgin, OK. (Dec 15) – After winning their first team championship of the year last week in Cache, the Moore Lady Lions took the short drive to Elgin to battle the Altus Lady Bulldogs. That wasn’t lightning on the turn pike yesterday it was me and the boy speeding down the turn pike to check out the duals.
Moore took a 46-27 win after jumping out to a lead lead by Kylee Smith, Hannah Lopez and Harley Stringer who returned back to the line up.
Kylee Smith (100) started off the night with a lot of jockeying for position and good hand fighting. Smith got in on a double and exposed Martinez back using a reverse half to get 3 nearfall.
Going into the second Smith looked to run a cross face cradle and had it locked up a few times but was not able to get the turn. Martinez fought back to her base after breaking the cradle and Smith had got out of position and got a Martinez gets a reversal to cut the lead to 5-2.
In the 3rd Smith started down and fought up and hits a knee slide to get some space and scores the reversal. Smith then works a bar and a half as Martinez based up Smith was able to rake Martinez to her back for 3 more nearfall to take a 10-2 major decision.
Hannah Lopez (105) started of the match and hits a ankle pick strait to a inside cradle. Butler was able to fight of the mat. The girls returned back to center and Lopez broke Butler down and used a chicken wing to quickly end the match with a first period pin.
