Eli Griffin to Start at Cal Baptist this Season

Former Cascia Hall star and four-time state champion Eli Griffin will be the 125-pound starter at Cal Baptist this upcoming wrestling season.

I spoke with Cal Baptist Head Coach Derek Moore recently in an interview that will be available soon over on the Intermat Rokfin page. He confirmed Griffin will be the starter for the Lancers in their first season in Division One and in the Big 12.

Griffin graduated from Cascia Hall in 2021 where he was a four-time OSSAA State Champion… Two-time USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Champion (one cadet, one junior)… USA Wrestling Fargo Junior Greco National Champion… Two-time USA Wrestling Fargo Junior Freestyle All-American (twice placed third)… Two-time Cadet World Team Trials All-American… 2021 Oklahoma State 3A Championship Outstanding Wrestler… 2021 Oklahoma 3A Wrestler of the Year and All-State Team member… 2021 USA Wrestling Senior All-American Academic Team… 2021 Vype Mr. Wrestling Oklahoma… Nominated for 2021 Dave Schultz Award… Two-time Cascia Hall Wrestling Founder’s Award winner, which is given to hardest worker on the team as voted by his teammates… Three-time Tulsa World Wrestler of the Year nominee… Two-time Oklahoma USA Freestyle State Champion… Oklahoma USA Greco State Champion… Wrestled club with Threestyle Wrestling. 

Griffin redshirted this past season as a freshman.
