This week we have some Friday night dual action as we are getting close to wrapping up the regular season and pushing into the post season. Its a cold, rainy Friday night, perfect for some great wrestling. Elgin Owls make trip up to take on the Tuttle Tigers before heading up to Ponca City for the 4+4 tournament on Saturday. #1 team in 4A and the #2 team in 5A sets the stage for what should be some really great matchups.Â

- Max Bradley, Tuttle (106): Elgin vs Tuttle Dual Interview
Looking at Tuttle’s schedule they have had a pretty grueling last couple of weeks after hosting BA and Allen, Texas last week. Then headed over to Gilroy, CA where they finished 2nd as a team. Thursday night, the tigers hosted top 3A opponent, Marlow who they defeated 38-30. Elgin has had a successful start to the new year themselves. Elgin dominated their district duals and qualified again for dual state in a couple of weeks. They finished in 2nd at the Carl Albert tournament. Last week they hosted Marlow and gutted out a nice win with a 34-30 victory.
This one was an EVENTFUL one to say the least. If you weren’t there then you totally missed out! I have been to more duals in my life then I can even count, and the energy at this dual is definitely up there at the top.
After introductions the spot light comes on and we are ready to wrestle!
106 Maxwell Bradley (T) vs Talon Tahdooahnippah (E)
Nice scrambles in the first but no scores. Talon has the definite height advantage but Bradley is lightning quick. Start period 2, talon hits a switch off the whistle for the reversal. Bradley gets to his feet for an escape. Both guys feeling it out on their feet, looking for the right opening. Period ends, score 2-1. Bradley goes down and hits a sick peterson for reversal, but Talon fights out quick with no backs. Bradley wins the scramble and gets the takedown on the edge to secure the win. Good start for the Tuttle Tigers.
Tuttle 3 Elgin 0
113 Cooper Jackson (T) vs Hunter Jackson (E)
Early takedown for Cooper to go up 2-1 in the first period. Cooper takes down. Hunter rides tough, but Cooper fights to his feet with about 45 seconds left. Hunter finds a nice double leg right at the whistle for two. Hunter goes down in the 3rd and gets to his feet right away. Another takedown for Hunter. Cooper looks for a takedown late, but can’t get past Hunter’s defense and holds on to win 6-4 and get the Owls on the board.
