David Taylor Emerges as Oklahoma State Coaching Candidate

Last month legendary Oklahoma State head wrestling coach John Smith announced his retirement after 33 years at the helm of the wrestling program. Many believe the next step in the process was a bit of a foregone conclusion. Coleman Scott had come over as the associate head coach after exiting the head coaching position at North Carolina. All signs pointed to that move as a bit of a “head coach in waiting” role until Smith’s inevitable retirement. Ultimately, it looks like now that may not be the case as nearly one month later nothing official has been announced on who will replace Smith.
