The 5A regional tournaments saw a record breaking performance in one regional, while the other went down to the wire before being decided. Coweta claimed 10 individual titles to win the East Regional by 156 points over runner-up Elgin, while Carl Albert and Chickasha went back-and-fourth for two days before Carl Albert pulled out a four-point victory in the West Regional.
Coweta scored 355 points to win the East Regional, with Elgin scoring 199 points to edge out Claremore by just .5 for the runner-up finish. Coweta’s impressive win continued their assault on the record books as they shattered the Class 5A record for most points, almost catching the old record after only one day of wrestling. The Tigers also set a new Class 5A record for most individual champions.

Not much separated Carl Albert and Chickasha throughout the tournament, but Carl Albert went 6-3 in the medal round matches, with Chickasha not quite able to keep up, as Carl Albert won their eight regional title by four points over Chickasha. Carl Albert finished with 214.5, with Chickasha at 210.5, and Duncan in 3rd with 152 points.
Coweta, coached by Gabe Ellis, qualified 13 for the State Tournament, with 10 Tigers winning regional titles. Mason Burnham, Cason Craft, Aiden Jalajel, Jericho Burkart, Logan Hargrove, Tohmi Carney, Legend Ellis, Brock Heilmann, Aiven Robbins, and Riley Hicks all won titles, with Toby Shipman and Ty Thrasher placing 2nd, and Baylor Bart placing 3rd. Robbins won his title with a 13-8 win over 3X state champion, Ritson Meyer.
Carl Albert, coached by Curt Hodges, qualified nine for the State Tournament, with four regional champions. Cache Williams, Cash Wiley, Kingston Sikes, and Maddux Underhill won titles, with Brayden Mixay, Wesley Davies, and Joe Thomas earning runner-up finishes, Braxton Jones placing 3rd, and Elijah Parker placing 5th.
Chickasha, coached by Chad Randle, also had four champions and nine state qualifiers. Winning titles were Jaxon Randle, Jarrett Patty, Charles Wheeler, and Marley Scott, with Cash Bratt and Egan Ladd placing 2nd, and Zander Bowen, Eddie Perez, and Jayden Thomas adding 4th place finishes.
Elgin, coached by Cody Rowell, qualified nine for the State Tournament with one regional champion. Brody Donnelly won the regional title, with Daxton Bean, Talon Tahdooahnippah, Braxton Antuna, Ritson Meyer, and Zayden Roberts earning runner-up finishes, Gage Hollowell placing 4th, and Gage Elam and Elijah Mares placing 5th.
Claremore, coached by Chad Willard, matched Elgin with nine state qualifiers and one regional champion. Gunner Murray defeated 2X state champion and 3X finalist, Toby Shipman to win the 144 lb. title. Noah Back, Dawson Back, and Kale Shultz earned runner-up finishes with Tristan Peters and Ethan Boyd placing 3rd, Myka Duncan placing 4th and Hayden Lee and Jackson Roach adding 5th place finishes.
Duncan, coached by Ashton Cooper, had one regional champion and qualified seven for the State Tournament. Fargo All-American Bryson Burton won the 132 lb. title, with Hayden Vandagriff, Felipe Villarreal, and Cesar Hernandez placing 3rd, and
Blayden Harper, Jack Lovett, and Isaac Cobbs placing 4th.
Looking at the regional results, shows a great state finals matchup possibility at 113 lbs. as Coweta’s 2X state champion Cason Craft won the east regional and Carl Albert’s undefeated Cache Williams won the west regional.
