Tuttle comes in as a heavy favorite, as they shoot for their 15th straight Dual State title. Tough draw for the 4th and 5th seeds as Sulphur and Catoosa will face each other in a great 1st round dual to see who advances to the semifinals to probably face Tuttle.  Sallisaw, Cushing, Cache and Jay will battle it out to decide the finalist in the bottom half of the bracket. Cache comes in with a January 30 win over Class 5A #2 Elgin (54-24), while Sallisaw won a tough regular season battle with Cushing, winning 33-31 on December 14.

CLASS 4A DUAL STATE BY THE NUMBERS

  • 32 – This is Tuttle’s 32nd time to qualify for Dual State in the 36-year history of the tournament.
  • 25 – Catoosa is making their 25th appearance at Dual State. 
  • 21 – This is Cushing’s 21st Dual State appearance.
  • 20 – Tuttle has won 20 Dual State titles, currently tied with Perry for the most Dual State titles.  
  • 14 – Tuttle has won 14 straight Dual State titles.
  • 12 – Sallisaw is making their 12th Dual State appearance and their 1st since 2014.  
  • 8 – Jay is making their 8th appearance, including the last four in a row.
  • 6 – Cushing has won six Dual State titles, winning all six in a seven-year span from 2003-2009.
  • 5 – This is Sulphur’s 5th trip to Dual State, with their first trip coming in the first year of Dual State in 1989.

  • 1 – Sallisaw (1997) is the only other school in this year’s field to win a Dual State title.
