Carl Albert State College Votes Unanimously To Add Wrestling

The Carl Albert State College Board of Regents voted on a resolution to add both a men’s and women’s wrestling program on Tuesday.

Sources present at the CASC Board Of Regents Meeting today stated the vote was unanimously in favor of adding both a men’s and women’s program. It was stated that the men’s program will start in 2021-22 and the women’s program will start in the 2022-2023 school year as it is required to complete “NJCAA regulations” first.

A search for a coach has already begun and the school and athletic department are moving forward immediately with all of the steps to start the program.

This will be Oklahoma’s second junior college wrestling program alongside NEO and first NJCAA women’s team. It will be the second women’s program alongside OCU who currently competes in the NAIA.
