Blackwell Comes into this Season as an Underdog in 3A After Winning Last Year

Blackwell won dual state and the state tournament over perennial power Marlow in 3A last season. This year, they don’t come into things as the favorite after the graduation of a few of their top wrestlers and Jake Miller’s move to Blackwell.

They know they’re an underdog and have a bit of a chip on their shoulder as they enter this season. A move up in weight class for Kruz Goff and others strengthens their lineups a bit, and the addition of Grant Williams as a new assistant coach could provide some unique energy for the program.

Regardless, the community is excited for another wrestling season, and they hope to be on top in 3A at the end of the season.
