Big 12 Review: Oklahoma State

#16 Oklahoma State – 2nd Place (134 Points)

OK State came into the tournament looking to contend for a conference title but came up just short. They did beat Iowa State however, who are #7 in the tournament rankings. The team qualified nine wrestlers, with Sheets having a solid chance to get an at-large bid. Reece Witcraft was the breakout wrestler of the tournament with a third place finish, while Plott and Fix have now won multiple titles. From the seeds the Cowboys had four wrestlers outplace their seeds, with three wrestling to their seed.

Young and Voinovich had some struggles finishing just one spot below their seed. Young’s was in part to an injury in the semis against Alirez while Voinovich got an upset win before an upset loss himself dropped him to a tough 5th place match. Going into the tournament the Cowboys needed a lot to go right to win, and they wrestled an almost perfect tournament to make it close.

125lbs: #32 Reece Witcraft – 3rd Place (16.5 Points)
