Lockett went up to 175 pounds to take on New Jersey’s Ryan Burton in one of the co-main events of the night. Dee got in on a single early and got the leg up, but was unable to finish. Later in the first, Lockett scored on a reattack off Burton that was challenged by Burton’s corner. After review, the call stood and Lockett took a 3-0 lead. Burton was able to get a quick escape and Lockett took a 3-1 lead into the second. Burton took bottom in the second and with another quick escape made it 3-2. They went into the final period with the same score where Lockett picked up a quick reversal to make it 5-2. Lockett says he’s testing the 175-pound waters to determine what weight to go for this season. It will be interesting to see what he decides after this win.

Williams was the first bout of the three Oklahomans during the early session of the day, taking on Isis France of Arizona. Bella took the lead early with a first-period passivity point. Williams was later put on the shot clock in the second period and unable to score tying the match at 1-1 and giving France the edge on criteria with about one minute remaining. Williams pushed some offense in the final minute and was able to score a takedown off a slide-by with about thirty seconds left to take a 3-1 lead. Williams defended a few shots from France late and took a 3-1 win to retain the #1 spot nationally at the weight.

Villasenor, who recently moved from Colorado to Stillwater, was the second bout of the men’s side of the event. He took on Dominic Muranetto of Illinois. Early in the first period he hit a high crotch and finished through the middle to take a 3-0 lead. He rode out the first period and started the second on bottom. He picked up a quick reversal and some riding time before giving up an escape and taking a 5-1 lead into the third period. Starting the third in neutral, he gave up a takedown, picked up an escape, and gave up a stall point, but with riding time held on to pick up a 7-5 decision.
