EDMOND (Nov. 4) – Anthony DesVigne cruised to a big upset at 184 pounds to highlight Central Oklahoma’s season-opening 30-3 trouncing of Northern State Friday night at Hamilton Field House.
DesVigne knocked off sixth-ranked Treyton Cacek 8-2 and the No. 4 Bronchos took nine of 10 matches from the No. 17 Wolves in notching their 20th straight win.
“Anthony wrestled a great match and came out with a big win,” head coach Todd Steidley said. “He’s one of the hardest workers on the team, so it was good to see him rewarded.
“Overall I saw some good things, but we’ve got a lot of work to do. Northern has a tough team and they exposed us in some areas. We have to get better in every phase that’s for sure.”
