Make it 16 in a row! Tuttle, did what they do best, rolling over three straight opponents to claim the 2025 Class 3A Dual State championship Saturday at Tulsa Union. The Tigers opened the day with a 79-0 win over Vinita, then advanced to the finals with a 61-13 win over Ft. Gibson and won the title with a 50-24 win over Bristow.

Bristow wrestled a strong tournament, making their first Dual State finals since 2006 with a 41-22 quarterfinal win over Harrah and a 37-33 semifinal win over Cache. Ft. Gibson, the number five seed, beat 4th seed Catoosa by a 43-30 score to make it to the semifinals for the first time since a runner-up finish in 2016. Cache opened with a 45-23 win over Sallisaw to advance to the semifinals for the second time in seven years.

Tuttle’s domination can be seen in that they went 34-8 on the day with all 34 of the wins being bonus point wins, including 20 falls and six tech falls. Eight wrestlers won all three matches on the day with Cason Rumley never going into the 2nd period, winning all three by 1st period fall, Cooper Jackson had two falls and a tech fall, Devin McCarty, Beau Hickman and Eli Probst each had a fall, tech fall and forfeit, Bode Wilson had two falls and a major decision, Chance Fisher had a fall and two major decisions, and Maxwell Bradley had a tech fall, major decision and forfeit.

Tuttle also went 3-0 at 215 lbs. with Adrian Avelar going 2-0 with a fall and major decision and Kameron McDoulett capping the championship with a fall in the final match of the night. Maddox Witt had two falls, with Rylend Slover, Kole Parker, Wyatt Whitener, and Tyrus Bradley all picking up one fall, and Kylan Ooton adding a tech fall.

The finals started at 285 and Bristow struck first, with Marley Branscum picking up a win, but Tuttle reeled off six wins in a row to take a commanding 33-3 lead, with Devin McCarty, Cooper Jackson, Cason Rumley and Bode Wilson all winning by fall and Maxwell Bradley winning by tech fall. At 132 lbs., Tuttle state runner-up and 2X state placer Chance Fisher won by major decision over state placer Kale Fruits. Rumley’s fall came over returning state placer Javon Freeman.

The two teams traded wins over the next several weights, with Hudson Claggett winning by fall for Bristow, countered by a fall by 3X state champion Beau Hickman for Tuttle. Albert Lopez Flores scored the winning points with a reversal and near fall points in the final 12 seconds of the match to pull out a thrilling 8-6 win for Bristow.

In a match pitting returning state placers, it was Tuttle’s Eli Probst earning the win with a 20-2 tech fall over Hank Powell. Bristow won the next two weights with state runner-up Haydan Youcham and Cain Clay each winning by fall. Kameron McDoulett then ended the dual with a fall, making the final score Tuttle – 50, Bristow – 24 and the victory celebration was on.

The tournament title added to Tuttle’s staggering success at the Dual State Tournament. The Tigers have now won 22 Dual State titles in the 37-year history of the tournament. They stretched their winning streak to an incredible 16 Dual State titles in a row, with the 22 and 16 both being state records. Most of the Dual State scoring records for all classes are already owned by Tuttle teams of the past, with this year’s team moving into 8th place for the Most Points Scored and the 79 points scored in the quarterfinals putting them in 2nd for Most Points Scored in the Quarterfinals.

Following the win, Tuttle head coach Bobby Williams stated “We came out right off the bat with a lot of energy, the guys were pulling for each other and I was proud of their effort throughout the day.” Williams went on to say “We got momentum on our side and just kept it rolling. It was a great day!

Relating to streak, Williams stated “Each year is different, each team is different and each team has goals. They train hard and look forward to this moment and to their time. It is a new title for them. It doesn’t get old.”
