Can it happen three years in a row? For the past two year, the girls state championship has been decided by the smallest of margins as Union won in 2023 by ½ point over Bixby and Edmond North and it was Bixby’s turn in 2024 as they won by ½ point over Edmond North with Union just two points back.
Broken Arrow has had an incredible year, winning every tournament they entered and undefeated in duals, including two dual wins over Bixby. Broken Arrow won the West Regional title by 104 points over 2nd place Edmond North and comes in with 12 state qualifiers, including four regional champions. Bixby has also posted a strong season and rolled to the East Regional title, qualifying 13 wrestlers, including four champions and won the team title by a ridiculous 170 points over 2nd place Stillwater.
Stillwater crowned two regional champions and have seven state qualifiers while Edmond North is sending eight to the State Tournament. Never count out Union. They have yet to win a regional title, but claimed state titles in 2022 and 2023. They don’t have the numbers the other schools have, but they have four regional champions and all five of their qualifiers could be in the state finals.
Kristen DeLaRosa, Kyah Leyba, Emily Beckley and Addison Farquhar all won regional titles for Broken Arrow, with Sophia Reece, Tiffany Breshears, and Sonora Reece earning runner-up finishes. Alina Peralta, Jordyn Todhunter, Riley Roblyer and Sophie Donaho all finished 3rd, with Brooklyn Church adding a 5th place finish. Returning state placers for Broken Arrow include Kristen DeLaRosa (4th in 2023 and 2nd in 2024), Sophie Donaho (2nd), Alina Peralta (3rd), Emily Beckley (3rd) Jordyn Todhunter (3rd) and Addison Farquhar (4th).
