The team championship for Class 5A Girls State Tournament appears to be a battle between 2024 state champion and East Regional champion, Little Axe and West Regional champion, McLoud, with Harrah, Cache, Jay and Oologah, each hoping to put together a good tournament and challenge for the top spot.

Little Axe, with ten entries, comes into the State Tournament with the most state qualifiers. They dominated the East Regional, winning by 107 points over 2nd place Jay. Little Axe pushed five into the regional finals and had two regional champions (Amelia Earhart and Emily McDaniel). Chloe Vawter, Ainsley Jennings and Aubrie Davis earned runner-up finishes. Anjelica Morales earned a 3rd place finish with Riane Robinett, Sydney Harris, Alexus Jones, and Lilah Blair all finishing 4th. Jones and Vawter won state titles last year, with Earhart (3rd), Morales (4th) and McDaniel (4th) earning state medals.

McLoud went to the regional tournament with eight wrestlers and all eight came through with top four finishes to qualify for the State Tournament. Not only did they have eight qualifiers, they put five in the regional finals, claiming four regional titles to win the West Regional by 23 points over Harrah. Winning regional titles were state placer Launa Trout, Carli Sisco, Addison Adams, and Melanie Nenaikita. Yazmin Nevarez and Laine Walker earned runner-up finishs with Brenlie Peacock placing 3rd and Gabby Lozano adding a 4th place finish.

Harrah, led by state champion Addie Morse qualified seven for the State Tournament. Kayleigh Braden claimed a runner-up finish and Harrah had five wrestlers earn 3rd place finishes. A good run by the 3rd place finishers, would put Harrah in contention for the state title. 3rd place medalists were Madden Talley, Haylie Miller, Kaylin Abbott, Riley Samarripa and Laycee Johnson.

Jay comes in with two regional champions out of their six state qualifiers. State placer Angela Lee and Locelyn Lopez won regional titles, with Addalie Dingsor earning a runner-up finish, Kenadee Thomas and Iilana Salaar placing 3rd, and Khloe Murray adding a 5th place finish.

Cache brings six to the State Tournament, including 2X regional champion Shiann Famero. Logan McFarland placed 2nd, with Katelyn Patterson and Zoe Bennett placing 4th and Ania-Maelynn Fox and Zailea Rodriquez placing 5th. Cache will be looking to make a run like they did last year in putting three in the state finals, with two of them coming from wrestlers that placed 4th and 5th at the regional tournament. Patterson was a state runner-up last year, with Bennett (3rd) and Famero (4th) also earning state medals.
