Tuttle has dominated Class 4A for the past 16 years and while Cascia Hall, Sallisaw, Bristow, Catoosa, Sulphur and others are building strong teams, the Tigers will enter the year as the heavy favorite once again.

Led by Gerald Harris III and Beau Hickman aiming to become 4X state champions, there are 11 returning state champions in Class 4A.  Two Class 4A state champions from last year have moved to other classes.  Tuttle’s 2X state champion Ethan Teague moved to Stillwater while Blanchard and state champion Tyler Misenheimer moved up to Class 5A this year.

3X state champion Gerald Harris III won his first title at Collinsville before winning the last two titles with Cascia Hall.  Harris, the OW of last year’s state tournament, went 34-1 last season and enters his senior year with a 110-8 career record.

Tuttle’s Beau Hickman, committed to OSU, will be shooting for state title number four and join past Tuttle greats Jeff Henning, Ryan Henning, Zach Beard and Tanner Litterell as a 4X state champion.  Hickman, 45-4 last season, has a career record of 119-12.

Cascia Hall’s Cory and Miles Velasquez and Sallisaw’s Cole Mayfield are looking to end their careers as 3X state champions.

Cory Velasquez has state placements of 1-2-1, with a finals loss to Hickman in his sophomore year.   Velasquez, 24-1 last season, has an 88-7 career record.  Miles, also a 3X state placer, going 1-3-1, went 27-1 last year and has a 69-5 career record.

Sallisaw’s Cole Mayfield won his first state title at Warner, before rolling to last year’s title with a tech fall and two falls, including a fall in the finals to cap a 37-1 season and claim the 150 lb. state title.  The UCO signee carries a 112-8 career record into his senior season.
